What a great place to go for breakfast or brunch!
I've eaten at the newer restaurant in Pleasanton several times now and I just had my third delivery in the last few months. They do a great job whether it's delivery or restaurant. Be prepared for the cost, however, because it's significantly more than other restaurants in the area that are family type restaurants. Look at their online menu before you go so that you won't be shocked when you get there on the prices. Especially if you're bringing a spouse or partner or boyfriend girlfriend, etc., and two kids. Four people eating there is really gonna eat into your wallet so make sure you really wanna go. Their food is worth it, it's very tasty. And the portions are big. But it's very casual so you don't have to get dressed up or anything to go there and you can wear shorts in the T-shirt that's fine. And the layout of the restaurant is very similar to red Robin Other than the decor changing, the basic layout is still the same with the exception of the bar at red Robin, which I stated earlier is now Danica's bakery. Their cookies are unbelievably great!
There's really no sign or a person directing you where to go once you walk in the front door, but just go to your left, which is the old bar area if you were ever in there for Red Robin. Behind the bar is now their bakery and they have glass cases showing everything on display that you can purchase just as a customer going in and going right back out or you can order it with your meal or whatever. I always order four of their delicious cookies and their snickerdoodles are absolutely the best!
You get chips and salsa I think with every meal, and there's a large salsa bar where you can fill up with the type of salsa you like and the amount that you want and put it in a little bowl and bring it back to your table or fill two or three of them whatever. That is a fantastic idea. They also have water and coffee in that same area so you can get it yourself if you'd like to. But once you place your order after standing in line at the bakery, you will be given your order number to place on your table. Seat yourself, and put the number on the table so that they can see it and when your food is ready, the server will bring it to you. At that point, you can ask for whatever you'd like such as napkins or a piece of silverware you want extra of or whatever, Basically I'm just saying you're not left alone. There are employees in the eating area as well. But it's not like a traditional restaurant where you are seated and then given a menu and someone comes to your table and you order off that menu. That does not happen here, and I actually like it better. Picking my own table is great and I don't mind ordering from the bakery cause there's so much great stuff in there.
And keep in mind that this is Pleasanton, which means restaurants with great breakfast will have lines out the door on Saturday and Sunday mornings say around 8 AM or so it will begin. So if you just prepare yourself for standing in line as well as the cost of items on the menu, you'll be good to go.
I definitely give this place five stars. My only suggestion would be on the DoorDash app that they, the restaurant, creates, they should send in a note to DoorDash asking them to leave a space for a person to say something specific about their order. They've chosen not to have that so you can only tap on what you want, but for someone like me that absolutely hates onions with a deep passion, I'm not able to note anywhere to hold the onions and the scallions. So that's my one critique or piece of advice. The rest of it is awesome. Head over to Danica's and enjoy! Don't forget to check their hours.
