I love this restaurant this has been my favorite spot since I first tried them in person the double pork chop plate OMG smothered is so good the fried Shrimp and Fries is amazing and the Louisiana Boudin reminds me of home I'm happy that I found a place in San Antonio that actually sells real Soul Food and Seafood

The Pork Chop Meal was delicious. Very crispy, crunchy, salty. Very good. I had the Mac and cheese and sweet pot for the side. They were good. The Kool Aid is very sweet, but perfect

I don't usually write reviews for good food because they always look so...fake. However, I had to make an exception here.
My first order was for gumbo. Though I prefer more shrimp, it was delicious! Cornbread was sweet and NOT dry. Fish sandwich was good...even 1 piece that was reheated later in the evening was still good! The surprise for me was the cole slaw...first, that I didn't even expect any, but, more importantly, it was the star of the show...I wish there was more! Sweet, but not overly...really creamy...perfect amount of pepper!
I rarely order from a restaurant twice in a row, but I was so impressed,I did...the very next day! And it was just as good! I'm having a hard time not ordering for a three in a row!

Now, I don't usually give this type of rating for this store (I'm from the east side) and this place has served a lot of us over there, but for the life of me I don't understand why the wings are so, so salty. I could only eat 2 wings out of a 10 pc. I immediately got an instant headache! I don't know who cooked my meal but that is way too much. I will still buy from here, but not the wings anymore, there is plenty of other great items on the menu. Please, please lighten up on the salt! That's just not healthy!

The fish was either overcooked or not fried fresh. It was hard (not crispy), as if it was fried earlier and thrown back in some hot grease. I have eaten this same order before, and this was not good. The skin was hard.
