How is my age verified for alcohol orders?
There is a two-step process for age verification
- To check out: DoorDash offers a one-time process to check your age when ordering alcohol. Provided you are of legal drinking age, after you upload a photo of your ID, you'll be able to check out and complete your order.
- To receive your order: Dashers will do a physical examination of the recipient's ID and will also scan the front of the ID to run a variety of compliance checks. Provided these checks are successful, you will receive the alcohol order.
Do I need my ID to receive my alcohol order?
Yes. Dashers will ask for an ID, perform a physical check of the ID, and use proprietary technology on their smartphones to check the validity of a customer's form of ID. Upon delivery, you or a 18+ recipient will be asked to produce a valid ID.
What if I don't have an ID to receive my order?
Dashers have the right to refuse to deliver alcoholic beverages in the event that the recipient is not in compliance with our alcohol terms and conditions. A dasher will refuse delivery if:
- the recipient is not able to produce a valid government issued ID
-the recipient is not 18 years or older
-the recipient does not physically match the ID provided (Dashers will do a visual comparison)
-the recipient is visibly intoxicated
