The food at Madre & Son is TOP NOTCH! Savory, finger-licking goodness and so so fresh! The collards are to die for! The fish is so flaky and the mac?? Dont get me started! Like I said before, give me 14 of everything!!

I have ordered more than 4 times from here and they offer Great portions, my food is well seasoned everytime, and I just love this place! Everything Ive tried on the menu slams, the cabbage with this order is to die for! Please dont change.

Hands down the best soul food in Newark! Whitings? Crispy and flaky tender! Mac and Cheese? Cheesy, flavorful with that good crust on top! Collard Greens? On a whole other level! Give me 14 of them right now!! ¡WEPA!

Every experience at this restaurant is great. The food is always fresh and tasty. The veggies can use a little less spice but even those are still delicious. I would order again. And you get a nice amount of food

10/10 recommend this is my third time ordering from here and everything is always delicious!! The Oxtails, Ribs and Wings are always cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The Mac & Cheese, Canfied Yams and Cabbage are my go to for sides! Very excited to try new things of off this menu!
